A Private Tasting
at Bent Oak Winery
Grand Mesa residents recently enjoyed a private wine social event by taking a summer stroll over to Bent Oak Winery, owned and operated by our neighbors John and Audrey Catalano. If you've never been, go! We had so much fun sipping and snacking.
“From the East Texas Range, West Texas High Plains, to California's Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley and even our own backyard vineyard, our grapes are carefully picked, hand sorted, and treated with the utmost care to preserve the essence of the terroir from which the grapes originated” shares John. From dirt to bottle, Bent Oak Wines speak for themselves, showing distinct balance, character, and taste. John and assistant winemaker Brian, are so passionate about the wines and the craft.
The Bent Oak Winery's existential mission is to bring to their customers wines of distinction from the regions where those varietals are best grown. From Texas High Plains Tempranillo, East Texas Blanc du Bois, Russian River Pinot Noir, to Chalk Hill Chardonnay, Bent Oak Winery offers a distinct lineup that will please even the most discerning palate. While Bent Oak Winery focuses on wines consistent with their customer demand, they are unabashed about stepping out of the box to bring forward unique varietals that are worthy of consideration. They have won an impressively high number of regional, national and international winemaking awards, but you might miss them if you’ve never partaken. Their location is nearby but tucked back and unassuming.
While our event was a private one, the tasting room is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 1-7 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30-5 p.m. Reservations are always recommended. Visit them at 2000 Windy Terrace, Bldg 2-B, in Cedar Park.
You can also check out www.BentOakWinery.com to learn all about them and how to purchase or become a wine club member. If you missed this great Stroll Grand Mesa at Crystal Falls event, remember to always check the book – we love hosting social gatherings.
Cheers!
