Family First! Meet the Hagler Family!
Family is the most important thing for the Hagler family of four. Beau, Blair, Greer, and Townes cherish time spent together, especially family dinners, vacations, and traditions. It’s been almost three years since the Haglers built their forever home in Hallsley, and they love that “Hallsley has such a family-friendly and safe environment” for raising their children.
Beau and Blair grew up in the deeper south of the states, calling the small towns of Mississippi and Florida home. However, before they met, their medical careers brought them to Richmond, and they have lived in the area for almost ten years! For undergrad, Beau left Mississippi to attend the University of South Alabama. Later, he completed his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently an Internal Medicine Physician. As for Blair, her education brought her to Virginia from Florida. She graduated from James Madison University with her undergraduate degree and later attended Virginia Commonwealth University for her Nurse practitioner degree. Now, she is a Nurse practitioner in Cardiology. After searching many neighborhoods in the Richmond area, the Haglers knew that Hallsley would be the perfect place to grow their family.
With two little kids, Greer (a four-year-old) and Townes (a one-year-old), the Haglers find themselves very active. Usually, one can find the Haglers playing in the cul-de-sac with their neighbors, but with the onset of summer, the family enjoys lounging by the poolside. As for vacations, the Haglers live in a house divided. Blair loves the heat and all things water, while Beau is drawn to the mountains and the snow ski slopes of Park City, UT and Whistler in Canada, even though he grew up in the south. Blair’s ideal vacation would be returning to Florida to visit friends and family while visiting the beach and lake. In the fall, the family loves to sit around their fire pit and enjoy a movie night under the stars on a projector screen. With Halloween usually right around the corner, the Haglers pair the night with roasting marshmallows and some kind of Halloween movie.
“We just love to have dinner as a family, that is the most important thing to us more so than the food we are serving,” the Haglers say. Family dinners hold a special place in their hearts. Growing up, Blair’s parents always made sure that they would all eat dinner together–with no electronics–while destressing and catching up with each other. “As an adult with all the stressors, screens and busy schedules we try to pass down this easy tradition to our own family,” the family explains. This tradition of family dinners, more about the togetherness than the food, is a cornerstone of the Hagler lifestyle.
In the three years the Haglers have lived in Hallsley, the community has given them a sense of togetherness and unity. Every year, the family holds an annual Easter egg hunt where the kids can look for eggs filled with candy, toys, and even money! On that note, Blair holds a Holiday cookie exchange each year. Now that Greer is older, she can now help her mom bake cookies for the event. The cookie exchange is a great opportunity to share fun recipes and all cookie options, as there is never any pressure when baking the cookies.
Often, the Haglers take walks around the neighborhood and love how people are quick to wave hello, stop, and share a visit with their dog. When reflecting on their favorite part of living in the neighborhood, the family shares, “We have met so many nice families at the pool or playground, and we love how friendly everyone is in the neighborhood!”
