Jewitt Family

Meet the Jewett family of six–Mathew, Asheley, Madison, and Abigail, and their two dogs Chester Copperpot and Marty McFly–who have called Lambourne Road home for about ten years! Chester Copperpot is a rescue beagle that was named after the movie, The Goonies. As for Marty McFly, he is a pug named after the movie Back to the Future

Both Mathew and Asheley grew up in Virginia–Mathew in Northern Virginia while Asheley grew up right here in Richmond. In addition, Mathew and Asheley attended JMU for their college education. Asheley loves running during her free time while Mathew finds hosting fire pits a hobby that he can always enjoy. As for Madison and Abigail, 16-year-old Madison goes to Trinity Episcopal School, and 13-year-old Abigail attends St. Michael’s School. Madison loves both indoor and outdoor field hockey and lacrosse while her sister cherishes time spent playing the drums and electric guitar, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

When the time comes to unwind and take a break from their hectic lives, the Jewett family loves escaping to concerts or traveling the world. “We go to a lot of concerts,” says the Jewett family, as they reflect on some recent concerts in the past year, including Green Day, Weezer, and Mt. Joy. One of their most recent trips to Peru, has been their favorite vacation destination so far! However, when they want to stay local, you can find the Jewetts in Scotts Addition, enjoying the many restaurants and amenities.

On that note, the Jewetts treasure time spent involved in the community. The family volunteers at the Chesterfield Food Bank for distribution nights, an experience they never want to miss! On days when they just want to sit back and relax at home, you can find the family cheering on the Washington Capitals–as Mathew is a big fan–or cooking up their favorite family dinner, Carnitas! “Mathew smokes the pork all day, and then makes handmade tortillas,” the family says reminiscing on the flavorful dish.

In the ten years the Jewetts have lived in Hallsley, the family has made some of their favorite memories. “We love our neighbors (especially our cul-de-sac), walking on the trails, and [going to] the dog park,” the family shares.
