Kelly, Evan, and Tanner Hollinsworth

PULL QUOTE: As soon as we pulled up to the main entrance, we knew it was going to be home for us.

Six years ago, Kelly and her family moved here from Savannah, GA after being stationed there for nearly 10 years. “We got orders to move to this area and had very little time to find a place to live,” she recalled. With two young boys, she was on the hunt for a nice, friendly, family-oriented community. But what she didn’t expect was that it would be difficult to find something close to the base. On the very last day of their stay, Hammock Bay was brought to their attention. “As soon as we pulled up to the main entrance, "we knew". We knew it was going to be home for us.”

Originally from Peru, Kelly moved to Orlando at the age of 18. Marriage took her to Savannah. Now that she is here, her wish to see the boys grow up in a community where “they could play and explore the outdoors until the sun goes down” has been fulfilled. And she loves Hammock Bay, too! “I enjoy everything that Hammock Bay has to offer. Security, sense of community, the trails, the gym, the amenities, general store, sports fields, etc.” The beach is one of their favorite spots as a family. “Evan usually brings his fishing rod while Tanner and I play ball or swim until our fingertips get old.”

The family is admittedly competitive. Kelly joked that most table games end up in a "friendly" fight. Fifteen-year-old Evan plays basketball at the courts for hours nearly every single day. “Evan's passion is basketball so most of our weekends are dedicated to his games. He also does jiujitsu and boxing,” Kelly shared.  Tanner, who is 10, has tried every single sport and Kelly said they’re so thankful to be only a short ride to the fields. “Tanner did soccer this past season and he turned out loving it.”

Kelly and the boys also love to travel. (We travel to Orlando at least once a year and got to the theme parks and enjoy getting on any wild ride). They have started a family tradition to travel for the holidays. Last year, they went on an 8-day cruise (in the summer), (on Christmas of 2022, we drove all the way to Chicago to see the bulls play and made a stop in Nashville, TN and Indianapolis IN), for Christmas (2023), the trio headed to a cabin in Blue Ridge, GA. “I would rather invest in memories than unnecessary objects. We have been blessed to be able to have everything we need, so we invest in memories will last a lifetime.”  Around the neighborhood, the family enjoys going to the movies, walking around the neighborhood, and exploring new restaurants.

Six years after moving to Hammock Bay, Kelly, Evan, and Tanner have found a place to call home.
