Discover the Soul of Verse: Explore Ira Porterfield’s Latest Works - Available Now!

After a career in medical device consulting and manufacturing, Ira began in earnest to write and publish his poetry. His earliest poems date back to the 1960s, then another short period in the 1970s before his professional calling and family took precedence. All of his poetry has been published, but only recently has he begun to market his writings.

He describes his poetry as a gift from God, something he feels compelled to share with family and friends. Some of the most rewarding poems have been created to celebrate special occasions, times, and events eliciting emotions. As Ira has gotten older, he finds great joy in capturing the obvious, the now, the small miracles occurring all around.

He is blessed with a wonderful, supportive wife who gives him encouragement, helpful advice, and much love. In addition, he has two incredible daughters, two wonderful sons-in-laws, six grandsons and one granddaughter, each with special talents of their own.
