Meet the Salazars – Harmony and Community Active
Harmony is the perfect neighborhood for the active Salazar family, residents since 2012 in a beautiful home on Valley Crest Drive. The Salazars are Amy and Ken; daughter Madelyn (17); sons Preston (15) and Wyatt (13); and Miss Telluride (Tellie), a Portuguese Water Dog and proud mama to 10 puppies in 2022. In addition to all the recreational amenities one could want, the Salazars find that Harmony has wonderful and fun neighbors who share their love of the community’s active life.
Both Amy and Ken enjoy Harmony’s golf, and Amy plays pickleball. Madelyn plays tennis, pickleball and frequents the fitness center, as do Preston and Wyatt when not fishing in the ponds or golfing.
Amy is from Greeley, Ken from Albuquerque. They met while attending Arizona State University. Ken works in the financial technology industry, and Amy and Ken enjoy investing in real estate and are partners in D-Bat NorCo, a baseball and softball academy in Windsor. All three kids attend Resurrection Christian School in Loveland, where Ken serves on the board of directors, and the family attends Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette.
Besides the many activities the Salazars enjoy here in Harmony, the entire family skis together at Telluride and Beaver Creek. The kids have skied since they could walk and push their parents more every year.
The Salazars regularly attend PGA and other golf tournaments. Amy and Ken took in the Masters and the Ryder Cup last year, while Ken and the boys attended the Genesis Invitational and TPC Sawgrass. The family’s favorite professional golfer is Wyndham Clark.
Other activities enjoyed by the Salazars are, for Ken and the boys, fly fishing; Madelyn, reading, spending time with friends and writing for Stroll Harmony; Preston, baseball and time with friends; and Wyatt, baseball, football and time with friends. Relaxation for this active family usually means travel.
The Salazars also give back to their community. Amy and Madelyn volunteer with various charities through the National Charity League, and Madelyn is NCL Class President this school year. Amy and Preston volunteer in various philanthropic endeavors through the Young Men’s Service League, while Amy and the boys recently supported the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ All-Abilities program for coaches and athletes in golf and softball. Madelyn plans to coach volleyball this fall with both Special Olympics and FCA All-Abilities.
Stroll Harmony is proud to feature the Salazar family, taking advantage of all Harmony has to offer, while offering their time to worthwhile community endeavors.
