Meet the Henderson Family – What’s Not To Like Here?

This month Stroll Harmony’s Family Spotlight shines on the Hendersons, who moved into their beautiful home on Ridgeline Drive two years ago.

The Hendersons are Molly, Joel, Blair (age 12), Brooke (age 6), and Daisy, the black and white toy goldendoodle who passes for a tiny cow and can dance on her hind legs when excited. Molly is originally from Greenwood Village, Colorado, and Joel is from Billings, Montana, where they met via mutual friends. Molly studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and Colorado State University, and Joel attended Montana State University. Molly teaches in the autism program at O’Dea Elementary School, and Joel works in finance at Newmont Gold Mining Company.

All of the Hendersons are very active. Molly coaches Brooke’s Arsenal soccer team and the rest of the family enjoys watching Blair excel in volleyball at NORCO. Molly and Joel often walk Timnath reservoir hoping to spot eagles or other wildlife. They also take in Harmony’s golf, pickleball and tennis, and they and the kids often bike the neighborhood. Molly is an avid runner, often with friends at sunrise, and practices yoga at Foss Yoga in Fort Collins. Blair loves cooking and baking. Brooke loves ‘miniature cooking’ and practices Taekwondo at Thrive Martial Arts in Windsor. When not cooking or barbequing at home, the Hendersons enjoy trying new area restaurants.

Socializing here in Harmony with wonderful neighbors Caesar, Kelly and Travis, Beth and Tim, and Molly’s parents, Brooke and Bill—who recently moved to Harmony too—plus others whom the family has met since moving here is also important to the Hendersons. And as Molly says, “What’s not to like about Harmony? It’s safe (shoutout to Timnath PD!), beautiful, and a friendly community!” Relaxation time for the active family, when they can get it,  includes reading, watching movies, cooking and dining together, or merely walking the neighborhood.

Henderson family traditions include church on Sundays, celebrating holidays with family, and, since moving to Timnath, celebrating the 4th of July with the town’s events and fireworks. The favorite family destination spot, which they consider a magical place, is Cannon Beach, Oregon.

The family gives back too. Blair and Molly volunteer with various organizations through the National Charity League, Molly volunteers in the girls’ classrooms and with special needs’ students, and the entire family supports Marisol Homes and Catholic Charities.

Thanks to the Hendersons for their service to the community and for sharing their family with Stroll Harmony.
