Halloween Fun for the Whole Family

Get your fill of Halloween fun in Westerville and surrounding areas all October long! Mark your calendars for these family-friendly events that celebrate the spooky season.

Wizards & Wands Festival: This month, the Westerville Public Library will transform into a world of magic with its annual Wizards and Wands Festival. All October, library visitors may undertake missions for a chance at prize drawings, enjoy engaging performances and activities, and stroll through the immersive walk-through experience.

Westerville Ghost Story Tours: On Friday and Saturday nights between September 27 and October 31, Uptown Westerville Inc. and Good Medicine Productions will host walking ghost tours at 7 and 9 p.m. Actors will present stories collected from the Uptown community combined into a theatrical, primarily historical and highly entertaining walking tour. This event is appropriate for ages nine and up.

Hoover Gardens Halloween Activities: Stop by Hoover Gardens & Gift Center (182 N Sunbury Rd) this month to experience their spooky haunted maze. They also offer a kids’ pumpkin painting every weekend in October. Get the details: facebook.com/HooverGardens

The Great Westerville Pumpkin Glow: Thursday, October 17 to Sunday, October 20, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., Heritage Park (60 N Cleveland Ave) will be lit up with hundreds of glowing pumpkins and hopping with Halloween fun! Fourth Friday: This month’s Fourth Friday, held October 25 from 6 to 9 p.m., will be a Midnight Madness event full of Halloween festivities. Kids can dress up and trick-or-treat at vendor booths and local businesses offering candy.

Genoa Township Fall Fest: On Saturday, October 26, Genoa Township will host a Fall Fest from noon to 3 p.m. at the fire station and adjacent Township facility. This event, previously known as “Trick or Treat Trail,” will be filled with fall family fun, including a haunted (fire) house, carnival-style games, pumpkin decorating, and balloon artists. Wear a costume and bring a bag from home to collect candy!

Inniswood Halloween Party: Inniswood Metro Gardens will host its annual Halloween party on Sunday, September 27, at 2 p.m. Costumes are encouraged at this family event, which will feature fun Halloween crafts and activities in the festively decorated park.

Beggars Night: Get your candy and costumes ready! Beggars Night (trick-or-treat) for Genoa Township, Orange Township, and the City of Westerville will occur on Thursday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.
