Meet Chaps!

The new kid on the block!

Hello Hilltop!

My name is Chaps, and I’m the newest resident on our Albion Street block. I moved in last August when I was just 3 months old, and now my first birthday is right around the corner.  I’m a Goldendoodle, and I was a rescue from a puppy mill, thanks to the work of a wonderful local non-profit.  I am so happy in my new home, and I love my human roommates, who spend lots of time taking care of me, feeding me, and taking me for walks/runs/sprints around the neighborhood!

I’ve developed a bit of a reputation in the house for putting everything I come across into my mouth, just to check it out…you know, see if it’s a tasty treat or a fun piece of clothing or furniture I can gnaw on.  And my outdoor time offers me an even bigger smorgasbord of delectable sticks, leaves, pine cones, tennis balls, plus the occasional apple core or chicken bone…my humans are always on top of it, though, to make sure I don’t over-do it on any of the stuff that I really shouldn’t have.  They like to tell their friends that they’ve become parents all over again!

I think our neighborhood is really great.  Lots of other friendly dogs and humans out and about, and I have a fun deck on the back porch where I can look out over the railing and watch the world go by!  I’m glad summer is right around the corner, and I hope I get the chance to say hello to as many two-legged and four-legged neighbors as possible…I’m a bit of an extrovert, they tell me, so I really draw my energy from the crowd.  I go to doggie daycare once or twice a week which I love, and I’ve also stayed overnight at this really cool place out in the country where I get to hang out with a bunch of new dog pals.  But my favorite place is right here at home on Albion.  Thanks for reading my story, and I hope I can meet you soon.

Woof, woof!
