HEAD = Neighborhood Book Club Kicks Off September 12
 
Do you love to read? Are you looking for a group of women with whom you can gather and discuss books? If so, the new Ladies of Historic Brookhaven Social Club’s Book Club might be right for you. The group’s first meeting will be Thursday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Christy Paddock, one of the club’s founders.
 
Club Drive resident Christy and Bellaire Drive neighbor Kristy Jennings volunteered to organize the group. They have been gathering names and the reading preferences of interested women for a few months.
 
The first book is The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. If you’re interested in attending the first meeting or in the book club in general, contact either Christy Paddock at christyduffner@yahoo.com or Kristy Jennings at kristy7321@gmail.com. The book club is open to all Historic Brookhaven woman regardless of age or area of the neighborhood. You do not have to be part of the Social Club to join the book group.
 
 
HEAD = Ladies Social Club Welcomes Home Organization Expert Carrie Peeples
 
Following a break for summer, the Ladies of Historic Brookhaven Social Club resumes meeting this month with home organization expert Carrie Peeples as the speaker. In addition to providing tips to Stroll Historic Brookhaven readers in her periodic guest columns, Carrie offers decluttering, organizational, closet designing, and downsizing services to clients.
 
At press, the date and location for the September meeting were not yet confirmed. Watch for neighborhood emails with meeting details.

HEAD = Mark your Calendars for the HBNA Fall General Meeting
 
The Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood Association (HBNA) will hold its Fall General Meeting on Thursday evening, October 17, at the Capital City Club from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The first hour will be social time, and include complimentary beer, wine, and heavy appetizers. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

At press time, the HBNA board had not finalized the Fall General Meeting agenda and would like to hear neighbors’ interests. HEAD = Come Meet Neighbors and Friends at the Annual Street Party on September 27
 
Join residents from across Historic Brookhaven on Friday night, September 27, for the annual Street Party. The event, which is sponsored by the Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood Association (HBNA), will be held at the intersections of East Brookhaven Drive, Lakehaven Drive, and Davidson Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
 
The party will include a DJ, face painter for kids, and other entertainment. If not on call, local firefighters will bring one of their trucks. Two food trucks, Repicci’s Real Italian Ice & Gelato, and Alcohol Heroes adult beverage truck will have food and drink available for purchase. Note, the first 100 attendees will receive a free drink ticket from the HBNA.
