High Museum: Historic Brookhaven Resident Co-Chairs Annual Wine Auction
The Co-Chairs Lunch
With a permanent collection of over 19,000 works of art, the High Museum is the largest art museum in the southeast. Its main fundraiser the annual Wine Auction is the largest wine auction supporting the arts in the United States. In 2022, the auction raised $3 million and since its inception 31 years ago has garnered over $39 million for the museum.
This year, West Brookhaven Drive resident Cathy Rhodes is co-chairing the event. More than 130 wineries and restaurants will participate in the auction, which kicked-off with a co-chairs luncheon in January and culminates in the big auction under tents at Atlantic Station on Saturday, March 23. The 2024 theme is Party with a Purpose.
The Co-Chairs Lunch, a new event for 2024, featured five female winemakers and raised over $100,000. Several Historic Brookhaven residents attended the event, which was held at the High’s Taylor Lobby: Tricia Stevens, Liz Shults, Christy Roberts, Diane Moffett, Jolie Maxwell, Ginger Greene, Sarah Smith, and Anne Marino.
Cathy, who is an interior designer and principal of her own firm Cathy Rhodes Interiors, was a co-chair benefactor in 2020. She and husband Scott collect wine and enjoy traveling to wine regions around the world.
