Resident Sabre Esler to Show at Venice (Italy) Biennale Art Show
by Lisa Wargo, Content Editor
Artist and Brookgate Way resident Sabre Esler is exhibiting her work at the prestigious Venice (Italy) Biennale art show beginning this April and running through November 24. Her installation, Magical Meta Meditations, presents three paintings as well as a wallcovering and relief elements that create a plexiglass cloud between the paintings.
The paintings explore the synergy between art and science. The wallcovering and relief present a study of energy waves, mathematical codes, and musical ciphers.
Sabre is one of about 200 artists from around the world invited by the European Cultural Center to exhibit at the Palazzo Bembo, a Biennale satellite location. Brookhaven-based art curator Shannon Morris has been following Sabre’s work and made the invitation.
“It’s a true honor for someone to have been watching your work and decide you are making something good enough to be on international stage,” Sabre notes.
This is the seventh edition of the ECC’s exhibit Personal Structures. This year’s theme is Beyond Boundaries.
