Hello, Neighbors, Friends and Sponsors,
I have to say the humidity in the South can make our nerves a bit frayed. Especially when it's hot as all get out! However, I still find joy in the simple pleasure of dinner with friends. When the sun is setting and the air is cooling down. I put on a cotton dress and a cute pair of sandals to get in the mood. A few of my select dining choices are Haven, The Chastain and Anis. Haven is a neighborhood staple with a consistently good menu. If you crave carbs like me, start by ordering the Truffled Potato Hay. For protein diets, there's plenty of other options. The Chastain is like running into a good neighbor, you know it's there and the bar is full of friendly faces. One of my favorite starters is the Beef Tallow Tater Tots. I actually tried to recreate them myself at home! Anis has been around since 1994 and who doesn't love a French bistro with a patio? My absolute favorite thing to order every time is the Tuna Niçoise Salad with a side of fries... a healthy and tasty balance. Dinner with friends is always an easy way to reconnect and decompress. Just don't forget to leave room for something sweet to end the night! All and all, It's the simple things that bring joy to the everyday.
Please remember to check our Sponsor Index for your next service need or place to shop! Our local businesses appreciate your support and love our residents as sponsors of this neighborhood publication.
In closing, I'd like to say that I'm forever grateful to our business partners who make this community-written magazine free to all the residents. A huge thank you to the many residents who contribute by sending in stories and neighborhood updates. Stroll Historic Brookhaven (also known as Historic Brookhaven Living) would not exist without the loyalty of our community.
I look forward to meeting more incredible people in the area and sharing your stories.
With Much Gratitude,
Cynthia Carns
