Gratitude turns what we have into enough. – Anonymous

Hello, Neighbors, Friends and Sponsors,

Welcome to the November issue with a focus on gratitude! To stay thankful, I keep a daily mental gratitude list. One of the main reasons I do this is to not get bogged down when disappointments or setbacks happen. We all have them, maybe it's a friendship that ended, the deal that didn't happen or just the humdrum of everyday life. In the end, it all works out so remind yourself to stay positive and grateful for something every day until it does...even if it's small.

My list of ten random things:
1- I'm thankful for an office in my home.
2- I'm thankful for long walks through Central Park during my visit to NYC.
3- I'm thankful for friends who walk with me at 6:30 AM around Chastain.
4- I'm thankful for a supportive partner who works hard to make me want to do better.
5- I'm thankful for two healthy adult children who are working.
6- I'm thankful that my Ex-husband is a wonderful father.
7- I'm thankful for bad days that make me appreciate the good ones.
8- I'm thankful for the ability to read and write.
9- I'm thankful that I'm able to help others when I can.
10- I'm thankful for Thursday mornings with the best women friends in the Historic Brookhaven Bible Study Group. Thank you Suzy Brister for bringing us together!

Please welcome our newest sponsor, Dr. Louisa Berman with Maple Drive Dentistry. From your first visit, the team is committed to individual attention and strives to provide personalized oral health care tailored to your unique dental needs and goals. Health and comfort are top priorities in helping every patient understand their symptoms and treatment options in a relaxed office setting. Thank you Dr. Berman for supporting SHB!

In closing, I'd like to say that I'm forever grateful to our business partners who make this community-written magazine free to all the residents. A huge thank you to the many residents who contribute by sending in stories and neighborhood updates. Stroll Historic Brookhaven (also known as Historic Brookhaven Living) would not exist without the support of our community.

I look forward to meeting more incredible people in the area and sharing your stories.

With Much Gratitude,

Cynthia Carns
