We are so happy to introduce you to some new neighbors this month – the Puffer family! After being members of the Hunting Creek Country Club for 20 years, Chris and Lisa Puffer have decided to make a change. Since their three daughters, Sydney (27), Claire (25), and Kate (22) are out of school, the couple is moving closer to their beloved country club with their mini golden-doodle, TillieGrace (2). “We are looking forward to having our own golf carts, being closer to all our friends in the neighborhood, and hosting lots of get-togethers in our new house!” said Lisa.
Chris attended Seneca High School before getting a BA in Business from University of Louisville. He is now a financial planner and President of Creative Capital Group, Money Concepts, with an office located in Middletown. Lisa graduated from Assumption High School and also went to UofL for her BS in Biology and BS in Nursing. She then attended Spalding University for an MS in the Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Tract. Today, she is retired from being a Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner for University of Louisville Physicians. Both Chris and Lisa were born and raised in Louisville before they resided in Oldham County for their kids’ upbringing.
Speaking of the kids, they are much more grown up now! The oldest, Sydney Ratliff, lives in Nashville with her new husband, Tyler. They both attended Clemson University, and Sydney is now an accountant. The new couple has enjoyed participating in the Spartan Race in Greece and honeymooning in Australia. Their middle child, Claire, has an apartment in Louisville and works as an account manager. She loves Louisville football, concerts, art, quilting, and has twin white doodle dogs, River and Ruby with her sister, Sydney. Their youngest, Kate, just moved to Charleston after graduating from Auburn University. Kate is an interior designer on King Street, lives with three great friends, and is enjoying her beautiful new city and beach.
In general, the Puffer family are big University of Louisville fans. “Chris was a UofL college soccer player, and I was a UofL cheerleader. You will find us tailgating all the football games at Caboose 7! Come see us!” said Lisa. They have a family draft for the show Survivor and enjoy watching Young Sheldon, Two and a Half Men, or America’s Got Talent. They also love listening to country music; getting Mexican food or eating at Martini’s restaurant; hosting game nights and dinners at home; or playing golf and pickleball with friends.
The Puffers also love to travel together. Lisa recently took Claire to Citta della Pieve in Tuscany for a printmaking retreat. “This was a very soul filling trip filled with delicious pasta, croissants, cheese, olives, and wine. Such beautiful scenery and new friendships! Last summer we went to the Bahamas with the family. The best part–being together,” said Lisa. At home, they make homemade pies at Mamaw’s for Thanksgiving, hold a pumpkin carving contest for Halloween, and enjoy an annual Ugly Sweater Party for Christmas.
We are so glad that the Puffers are finally making Hunting Creek their home. Please kindly welcome them to the neighborhood!
