Recently celebrating its one-year anniversary just up Highway 42 in Prospect is The Fairy Dog Groomer owned by Olivia Gottler. This unique grooming boutique and spa not only offers grooming for dogs but cats too!  They also sell variety of pet treats, collars, leashes, and toys.

 

Owner Olivia is experienced and knowledgeable of all breeds; is up-to-date on the standards for grooming; and is well educated in her trade, graduating from PetSmart Grooming Academy in 2014. “I have groomed in every salon setting from corporate, small scale, vet and mobile,” says Olivia. “I have been drawn to animals for as long as I can remember, but rescuing dogs and cats has always been my passion. After I graduated from high school, I started rescuing dogs from kill shelters. Once I had children, I had to stop rescuing and fostering and had to find another way to be with dogs all day. I got a job at PetSmart and not long after, was lucky enough to be sent to grooming school. I have been grooming for more than 10 years now, and it has become who I am. I love every dog or cat that gets on my table, and I feel very blessed to have a career that I adore!”

 

Olivia draws inspiration from her three daughters. “They believe I have the coolest job ever and look up to me for following my dreams. I cannot wait to see who follows in my footsteps!” She is also moved by all her loyal clients that have continued to use her grooming services for many years. “The love and appreciation that they have for me has meant everything. I have the most wonderful customers and have even built friendships with many of them. I would not have had the courage to start my own business if it was not for them. They remind me of my purpose every day.”

 

Olivia believes that the best part about her job is the relationships that she has with all of her fur ‘babies.’ From the moment their car pulls up in the lot, those babies get excited! When get out to greet me, Olivia says it is the absolute best feeling. “It’s like I have a thousand dogs, but I only must live with four of them. I feel so great being able to bond with animals that are normally anxious about going to the groomer. I really try to get to know each dog and make sure they enjoy their time with me instead of being scared and nervous. Dogs do talk; you just must know how to listen,” Olivia said.

 

The Fairy Dog Groomer welcomes all breeds of dogs and cats, including those with special needs. Their goal is to provide a safe and happy grooming environment for your pets. They offer a variety of services - from a simple bath and brush to the full groom package. Their grooming appointments are by appointment only; however, they do offer a variety of walk in services too, including nail trimming.
