Meet Abby and Zach
A Hunting Creek couple is in the spotlight this month! Abby Bauer and Zach Lykins have lived in the neighborhood since the autumn of 2021. They love the safety, walkability, and hidden gems found in and around it. The young couple are so happy to call it home.
Both Abby and Zach grew up in the Louisville area. Abby attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School and graduated from Bellarmine University in 2021 with a BA in biology. Zach went to St. Xavier High School and is currently finishing his degree at Bellarmine University in accounting.
The couple met while on the Bellarmine bowling team and have been bowling together ever since. Abby started 10 years ago and placed 4th in a collegiate singles tournament, while Zach started 7 years ago and has won several tournaments, including one with PBA professional, Matt Ogle. Zach is also a great golfer, and the couple love golfing together even though Abby, self-admittedly, can barely hit the ball.
Abby is currently the Business Development Manager at Access Care. Access Care is a senior services agency that provides an adult day health center, home care and transportation for adults or seniors with medical disabilities. Access Care was founded by a Russian immigrant for his mother-in-law and has expanded to several cultures, serving the Southeast Asian, Russian, Middle Eastern, Northern African, Hispanic, and American populations. Zach works for Source International in the Accounting Department while studying full-time at Bellarmine. Zach hopes to work for Deloitte one day, just like his father, older brother and niece.
Abby has been enjoying the recipes featured in Stroll, but when dining out, the couple loves Mesh, Gustavo's, and Waffle House. They enjoy watching classic Disney/Pixar movies, Shark Tank, Hell’s Kitchen, PGA golf, PBA bowling, The Equalizer series, and listening to NF (Zach) and Dan & Shay (Abby).
The couple recently went to Red River Gorge as well as Detroit. “Red River Gorge is a wonderful sight to see if you are a nature lover. The landscapes are serene and everlasting with the horizon. We stayed in a lake cabin where we could wake up and go fishing from the back deck. Hiking and exploring the Natural Bridge allow you to connect with and appreciate life in so many ways. Then we found Detroit to be a fun city full of activities. You have access to luxury malls, the zoo, MLB games, exquisite timepiece dealers, and wonderful golf courses,” said Abby.
They are currently navigating their youth together while forming new traditions and memories. Please introduce yourself to Zach and Abby if you see them on the golf course or at the bowling alley!
