A Message from the New Publisher
Hello, Hunting Creek neighbors!
I wish I could introduce myself to each of you in person right away, but this note will have to be our starting point. My name is Maria Mears, and I am honored to step into the role of publisher for Stroll Hunting Creek! Over the last five years, I’ve had the privilege of running the neighborhood magazines Stroll NoCo (Norton Commons) and Stroll Glen Oaks, and I’m thrilled to now bring my passion for storytelling and community connection to Hunting Creek.
My husband, Robb, and I have called Norton Commons home for the past nine years, and we love being part of such vibrant and close-knit communities. While we don’t have children, we do have a “mini zoo” of pets who keep life exciting! Our home is filled with the energy of Clark, our 2-year-old poodle mix, four pampered cats (Brenda, Frida, Georgia, and Lois), a bearded dragon (Negan), two frogs (Avocado & Toast), a hamster (Ruth), and even a betta fish named Higgins.
As your new publisher, I am thrilled to continue the legacy of Stroll Hunting Creek as a platform that celebrates the incredible people, pets, and stories that make this neighborhood so special. My goal is to bring fresh ideas and even more meaningful connections to the publication. I hope you’ll enjoy the blend of familiar features and new additions that we’ll be rolling out in the coming months. I encourage you to read along each month and follow us on social media to stay in the loop—you won’t want to miss what’s coming next!
I’d also love to hear from you! Whether you have feedback, a story idea, or simply want to connect, please feel free to reach out. You can email me at maria.mears@strollmag.com or scan the QR code to connect directly. My goal is to make this magazine a true reflection of the amazing Hunting Creek community, and I can’t wait to get to know you all better.
Here’s to an exciting new chapter with Stroll Hunting Creek!
Warm regards,
