Teays Valley Chiropractic
just celebrated one year in their new location

Teays Valley Chiropractic just celebrated one year in their new location. Dr. J.B. Marinacci, the owner and doctor at Teays Valley Chiropractic, is extremely excited and proud of his new office location. “We have been able to offer the same great care of our patients and the new location has been so refreshing.: Dr. Marinacci stated. “The new office not only allows us to better serve the community, and our new and existing patients have been happy with the increased space and the dedicated and expanded parking.”
After 12 years in the existing location, why take on the project of building a new office? Space, appearance, and productivity! “First impressions are so important, and our new patient waiting area will be a major improvement,” said Dr. Marinacci. “Our old office was pieced together as needs arose and was not as functional as I would have liked. Changing the way patients flow through the office will allow us to be more efficient.”
Community has always been important to Teays Valley Chiropractic, and the new building cements that commitment from Dr. Marinacci. “Constructing this new office demonstrates we are here to stay and serve this community. We are excited to give back to the community that has given so much to us. I am hoping this facility serves the area long after I am gone.”
Dr. J.B. Marinacci grew up in Huntington, graduating from Huntington East High School in 1994. He graduated from West Virginia State College with a BS in chemistry in 1999, and from Logan Chiropractic College in 2004. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Teays Valley, where he has resided ever since, and started working for Dr. Jeff Given. In 2006, Dr. Marinacci purchased Teays Valley Chiropractic from Dr. Given. “Having been helped by one at a young age, I was interested in becoming a chiropractor one day. I liked the idea of helping people without the use of drugs or surgery.”
J.B. and his wife, Jennifer, live in Woodridge Estates with their three children, Alyssa, 21, Andrew,17, and Addley,15. Jen is a school counselor at Winfield High School. Alyssa is a junior at Marshall University majoring in elementary education. Andrew (junior) and Addley (Freshman) attend Hurricane High
When asked what makes Teays Valley Chiropractic unique, Dr. Marinacci points to the relationships with his patients. “Our practice has always been a place where people feel comfortable and know they are in good hands.” He credits his valued staff for helping him meet the needs of his patients. “I am extremely lucky to have such a great staff,” Dr. Marinacci said. Jessica Payne has been with the practice for 13 years and serves as the front desk and billing coordinator. Teays Valley Chiropractic has three chiropractic assistants, Lizzie Bailey, Elizabeth Terry, and Caitlyn Lamanca. Dr. Marinacci adds, “We also have five national certified massage therapists; Jennie Raike, Shannon Forbes, Crystal Williams, Denett Erlewine, and Cortney Whittington."
“As a doctor of chiropractic, I have always tried to keep up with the latest treatments while maintaining the unique, traditional skill of adjusting the spine.” Dr. Marinacci believes chiropractic is a great first choice in healthcare, no matter the age of the patient. “Everyone can benefit from chiropractic care; there is no one too young or too old for the benefits of a properly aligned spine and a healthy nervous system. Many issues such as neck pain, back pain, headaches, sports injuries, auto injuries, and disc injuries can all be helped by chiropractic care. We believe chiropractic treatment focuses on the cause of the problem rather than the symptoms.”
Dr. Marinacci also points out that part of his job as a doctor of chiropractic is to refer cases when a different type of treatment might be needed instead of chiropractic or in conjunction with it. “We order advanced imaging for patients when necessary and refer accordingly. I have developed great relationships with some amazing family doctors and specialists in the area.”
In West Virginia, chiropractors are primary care providers, meaning you do not need a referral to come to see Dr. Marinacci. Chiropractic care is covered by most major health insurances. In fact, PEIA (state insurance) has now waived deductibles leaving only a co-pay for the first 20 services. “This was instituted due to the opioid crisis in the state. The thought is if we can manage patients’ pain without the use of medication, we can reduce the risk of long-term addiction. West Virginia has led the way in this endeavor, and we will help our communities and our state as we move forward.”
