Those Constant Looks of Love
Aleph is the best dog we’ve ever interviewed—at least according to his constituents!

We meet some truly unique and special pets here at Stroll Ibis. Our neighborhoods are full of wonderful four-legged friends and each of them is a delight. However, for this month’s Precious Pet feature, we had the extraordinary experience of encountering a pet whose actions appear to include throwing his collar into the ring in a quest for public office. We are proud to present Aleph, a 75-pound ball of love who wants hugs and maybe your vote!
An English cream golden retriever, Aleph resides on Grande Boulevard with his adopted dad, Howie Fredericks. Currently, five years of age, Aleph found the Fredericks two years ago when his previous owner had to find him another home. Howie and his late wife Alice took him instantly and were delighted to find that they had not only a beautiful dog, but a wonderful and loving personality on their hands. Alice explained that Aleph is a devoted friend and family member: He thrives on attention, especially from children, with an extra emphasis for grandchildren. He also delights meeting with the people as he canvases our neighborhoods. So, be aware, an open garage door to him is an invitation to meet.
A devoted member of the community who believes in making life better for everyone, Aleph’s civic-minded nature manifests in so many ways. He barked about organizing a Grande pet welcome wagon, with a variety of treats for both pets and their owners. Howie told us that Aleph sees himself as a candidate, campaigning and meeting potential constituents, especially those with dogs.
This outgoing nature and flair for making connections have brought many special friends into Aleph’s life. In addition to his family, he has several notable dog friends in the Grande neighborhood, specifically Rosie and Roxy.
He also has a special human friend who he refers to as Mommy II. To gain her attention, he would not hesitate to jump into her swimming pool, when commanded, and save those two tennis balls in distress. This is Aleph to a T, with a loving nature and devotion to his friends and family. Per Howie: “The best thing about life with Aleph is those constant looks and acts of love and devotion.”
But let’s get to the really important question. What does Aleph think of life in Ibis? Alice was clear that Aleph easily adapted to country club living and loves the Club at Ibis. He loves treats and can tell you right where they are located in the kitchen. But we're trying to keep him trim and slim, so we watch is daily intake. He also loves taking part in community events, and is looking forward to this year’s Halloween celebration. As Alice explained. “He likes to get dressed up for Halloween. He has already been a martini and a bowl of Cheerios.”
With a civic worldview and a loving nature, Aleph is a genuine addition to Stroll Ibis. So if you encounter this cream-colored bundle of love whilst out and about, don’t hesitate to stop, give a hug, and assure him of your vote.
