Paris, France, was the summer destination for Demetria Melone and her parents (Gia and Bruno) this summer, and it was the first trip the family had taken since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Demetria had never flown in an airplane before, let alone traveled so far as Europe! As a result, the anticipation and excitement for the trip was more than average for a 7-year-old to take in! Despite the grueling 105-106 temperatures, the family was able to visit many of the “hot” (no pun intended) tourist spots, indulge in croissants and crepes, and sip a cool drink along the many charming cafes that lined the cozy streets of Paris. Whether strolling along the famous Avenue des Champs-Élysées, taking postcard photos by the Eiffel Tower, seeing Mona Lisa’s smile, petting the fish at the Aquarium de Paris, marveling at the luxury of the Palace of Versailles or ending the trip with a special visit to Disneyland Paris, it’s certainly a trip that the Melone family, and especially Demetria, will never forget!
