Ken and Sharon Molnar of Inverness are pleased to announce the wedding of their daughter, Abbie, to Matt Laubmeier. Matt is the son of Joe and Kathy Laubmeier of Madison, WI. Abbie and Matt were married amongst over 200 family, friends, and neighbors on Saturday, June 18, 2022, on a perfect, sunny 73-degree day.

Ken and Sharon, who have been residents of Inverness for 30 years, have a daughter, Abbie (30), and a son, Jack (24). They were given a big task when Abbie wanted to fulfill her dream of getting married in her childhood backyard. Ever since seeing the 1991 version of Father of the Bride, Abbie knew she wanted an elegant backyard wedding just like the one in the film.

After getting engaged in October 2021 at the Laubmeier family cabin, Abbie and Matt decided on a June wedding and got to work planning the best day of their lives. All spring long, the Molnar family worked hard on wedding planning and getting their house and yard in tip-top shape for hosting.

“Looking out the window in the months of January through April, it was very hard to imagine it all coming together,” said Ken. “The hard work we put in paid off. Everything looked amazing, and we got the most perfect, breezy summer day.”

“Every detail of the day was absolutely perfect,” said Sharon. “The weather, the tent, the food, the music, the company … it was all spectacular.”

“I have never seen our yard look so perfect, and I have never seen my sister look so happy,” said Jack. “I am so proud of my family for pulling off what has to be the most stunning and most fun wedding Inverness has ever seen.”

“Inverness was an amazing place to grow up, and I am so thankful we were able to host my dream wedding in my parent’s backyard,” said Abbie. “June 18 was everything Matt and I could have asked for and more. It was a fairytale, and a day we will remember for the rest of our lives.” 

Abbie is a graduate of William Fremd Highschool and furthered her education at Northern Illinois University, studying communications and marketing. She is now an experienced internal communicator for an accounting firm in downtown Chicago. Matt graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire with a degree in business and is an application developer for an insurance company. Abbie and Matt currently reside in Barrington, IL, with their mini Goldendoodle, Waffle.
