50 Richmond Drive
A Haven for Family and Memories
Since moving to Isle of Hope in 2008, Patrick Dimond and his family have built a lifetime of memories at 50 Richmond Drive. Patrick fondly recalls those early days, forming tight bonds with neighborhood friends and sharing countless adventures. Even as he’s grown, the home remains a place where he reconnects with those childhood friends at the Wymberly dock.
The home at 50 Richmond Drive is a blend of styles and eras, reflecting the family that has grown within its walls. It seamlessly combines mid-century touches, eclectic elements, and a modern-traditional flair. The layout has been ideal for family life, with a primary bedroom on one end and a separate living area for the children. This setup offered both connection and independence as the family evolved.
Patrick recalls the house’s transformation over the years, with his father renovating all three bathrooms and tackling various upgrades. Although the skylights are gone, the insulated roof, updated fixtures, and original hardwood floors ensure the home is both comfortable and true to its roots. Patrick especially appreciates the energy-saving features, like the smart outdoor lighting and timer-controlled bathroom fans, which he now misses in his apartment.
The house has also been a hub for celebrations. With its expansive living room and bar area, it’s hosted everything from Thanksgiving dinners to dance parties, accommodating guests with ease. The double-door entrances from the driveway and patio create a welcoming flow, perfect for gatherings.
Although the family never added the planned two-car garage with an in-law suite, they still made the most of their space. Patrick reminisces about parking with friends by the fire pit after high school games, a cherished memory of teenage freedom.
For those looking to enhance their own homes, Patrick recommends adding a sprinkler system to bring a lush, tropical feel to any backyard—a transformation he’s seen firsthand in his own oasis at 50 Richmond Drive.
