Victoria Green, a resident of our neighborhood for nearly four years, has traveled to 28 countries, blending her passion for teaching and exploration. Recently, she shared her remarkable journey, offering insights into the experiences that have shaped her life. 

Victoria’s travel adventures began during her early years as a high school French and Spanish teacher. “I decided in my second year of teaching to introduce my students to France and Spain by leading them on educationally based trips. I was 22 and had only traveled abroad once, during my senior year of college to France,” Victoria explained. She proudly became the first teacher in her county to take students to Europe, and eventually Africa. Her travels weren’t just about students; she also introduced her family—her husband, son, parents, sister, brother-in-law, and cousin—to their first trips abroad. 

 Over the years, Victoria led students to France, Spain, England, Austria, Wales, Holland, Belgium, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Lichtenstein, Greece, Italy, Morocco, and Switzerland. After retiring, her personal travels expanded to Bermuda, Mexico, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, and Turkey. Her journeys were filled with cultural immersion, unique experiences, and hidden gems that enriched her understanding of the world. 

 Among the many highlights, dining at the Eiffel Tower’s Jules Verne restaurant stood out, blending exquisite cuisine with breathtaking views of Paris. However, her most cherished memory is taking her parents on their first trip abroad, an experience that holds a special place in her heart.

 During her recent presentation, Victoria shared famous travel quotes, offering rewards for correct guesses—a teaching tool she valued. She captivated her audience with photos from her favorite destinations, bringing her stories to life.  

Victoria’s love for exploration remains strong, with several “bucket list” destinations still in her sights. Her journeys are a testament to the transformative power of travel, blending curiosity, learning, and the joy of sharing the world with others.
