Jacob and Kristen have lived in Kings Point with their two beautiful children, Jake and Sofia, along with their dog, AJ, and their ball python, SwordSnake, since 2020.

Kristen was born and raised in Houston and pursued her education at the University of Houston. Jacob, originally from Brazil, moved to the United States to further his medical education. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where his outstanding test scores and determination earned him scholarships that covered his entire tuition. In just four years, he achieved dual degrees—a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry—graduating with honors.

Following his undergraduate studies, Jacob applied to the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, located in the prestigious Texas Medical Center, one of the nation’s top medical institutions. He was accepted and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree, graduating with honors. Jacob then completed his residency at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, finalizing his journey to becoming a fully licensed physician.

During his time in medical school, Jacob met Kristen, who was working at an orthotic and prosthetic office in Bellaire, assisting patients recovering from surgery or amputations. Their shared experiences sparked a deep connection, and they soon fell in love. The couple married on December 12, 2012, in Galveston, Texas, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

Jacob is now a thriving physician working for the federal government. He also occasionally works at HCA CareNow Kingwood Urgent Care, where he enjoys treating patients in his local community. It was this job that brought the Birnbaums to Kingwood. Kristen now runs her own business, *What’s Poppin'*, which specializes in extravagant balloon garlands for events and occasions. She also loves planning parties from start to finish and is a preferred vendor at the Kingwood Country Club for full-service event planning.

Jake, who recently turned 8, is in second grade at Willow Creek Elementary. He enjoys soccer, gaming, and swimming at home with friends and family. Sofia, 4, attends preschool and loves dance, gymnastics, and soccer.

Kristen is very involved in the community. She donates to local charities such as Mothers Against Cancer and In The Pink. She is an active member of the executive board of the Willow Creek Elementary PTA and manages all décor and balloon displays for the school. She also provides décor for the Sugar Plum Tea party rooms. Kristen is always willing to donate her time, services, or gift certificates to the local community.

When Kristen wants to relax, she enjoys crafting and decorating. She also likes swimming in the backyard with her family, shopping, and dining at the Kingwood Country Club. Jacob loves going to the movie theater. As a family, the Birnbaums enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and family, playing soccer, biking on the greenbelt, and fishing in the pond behind their house, which is one of their favorite activities.

They frequent several local restaurants, including Chimichurri's, Sharky’s, and The Tavern at KCC. They also love cheering on the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans. Their favorite TV show to watch as a family is *Is It Cake?*, and their favorite family dinner is spaghetti.

Kristen shares that their favorite part of living in Kings Point is "that we live in a bubble that allows our children to have access to walking and biking trails, as well as ponds to fish in, right in our own backyard! I love that we live close enough to walk or bike to school, and I especially appreciate that all my children’s friends live so close to us.”
