Lake Caroline residents, Tracy and Curtis Gho celebrated the engagement of their son, Walt Thompson, to Bailey Nichols on December 31, 2022, at the Bellevue Clubhouse. When Walt's family began talking about how and where to propose, the family knew Lake Caroline was the perfect setting. They spent a week gathering decorations and decided nighttime with lots of candles was the most romantic. Walt told Bailey that they were going to dinner at the Mermaid with his grandparents since they could not be together on Christmas Day, but first, they needed to go by the Bellevue Clubhouse for a New Year's Eve neighborhood gathering. None of that was true, but it allowed friends and family to gather inconspicuously to surprise them! Their photographer (and Lake Caroline resident), Anna Douglass Laster, was hiding in the bushes and was able to take photos as the proposal was happening! After Walt proposed, everyone gathered at the clubhouse to celebrate with champagne, cake, and appetizers. It was a fabulous night!

Bailey and Walt will marry on January 6, 2024, at the Reed House at Live Oaks.
