The Lake Jeanette community is known for beautifully landscaped and manicured lawns that are the result of great care and attention by homeowners. Scott and Karen Reightor’s lawn in Daybreak Square was singled out as being especially impressive, with the honor of being named Daybreak Square Yard of the Year for 2022. 

“We were both shocked to learn we had won! We had no idea until we saw the sign being placed in our yard. It was such a nice honor!” Karen says.

Scott and Karen have lived in their Topwater Lane home with their puppy, Toby, for 15 years. They love their home and were originally drawn to the corner lot with the mature trees it is situated on. Scott enjoys working in the yard and devotes at least one to two hours a day to maintaining and enhancing it. He found the lot made a perfect landscape canvas for him to build on. They derive inspiration for adding more landscape elements by driving around and looking at other yards, perusing and asking questions at Greensboro Shrub and Nursery and getting ideas from magazines. 

“We put a lot of love, work and water into making our yard what it is today. Karen and I enjoy our space and especially like to watch and listen to the many birds that visit and appreciate it!”
