Christmas Cookie Tradition
We've already been published as a family several years ago, before the twins were born. But Sandy had asked about any holiday traditions that we do that we would like to share. Years ago (because I'm insane, I think), I decided that after Thanksgiving I would bake a different batch of Christmas cookies every day until Christmas. I love to bake...the problem is...we can't eat that many treats! So, what we started to do was I would cook a batch, we would try 1 or 2, and then we would package them and Marilyn would deliver them to the doors of neighbors around the house. We just grab a Tanglewood Directory and start going by every single person we might know. We do this every evening or afternoon when the batches are ready. Sometimes it's cookies, sometimes it's chocolate-covered peanuts, sometimes brownies, puppy chow...the combinations are endless! The twins are old enough now to where they have started to help Marilyn deliver as well. Marilyn loves to take these to all the different people every single year. It's something that we look forward too. Marshal, maybe not so much, because he gets stuck with my cookie dishes every day (hahaha) So, if you see a little girl and 2 boys at your doorstep this December with a treat...they AREN'T for sale! They are a free gift from our family to yours! Merry Christmas and enjoy!
