Fin-tastic
This is Finley, a five-year-old lab/ridgeback mix. Originally named Shark because of his ridge, his family found such a scary name didn’t match with his happy and loving demeanor, so they changed his name to Finley, still keeping the fish theme in play. Finley’s family says he’s a happy dog, from his lab side, but like ridgebacks, he’s very protective. They say a dog is a person’s best friend, but if you get lucky, a dog can also be your best bodyguard; it’s the best of both worlds!
Along with being protective, Finley is also very loyal to his family, probably because when Finley was a pup and needed a home, they were loyal to him. Finley was found roaming the golf course, and returned to his owner, who was looking for a new home for Finley. Fin’s family was happy to give him a new place to live and new people to love. Finley is a playful dog. His favorite toy is his stuffed alligator, which makes a true Southerner. One of Finley’s best friends is his next door neighbor, Phoebe, a pure ridgeback; they play together every day!
One of Finley’s favorite activities is going on hikes to the Sam Houston National Forest and the WG Jones State Forest. If Finley had it his way, his perfect day would be spent on an adventure at the beach. He loves chasing seagulls and splashing in the ocean. This sweet pup’s name may have changed, but with his love of the sea, Finley may have a little shark in him after all.
