Roofing for a Reason
Angelman Roofing & Restoration is a company with a purpose: to raise awareness for Angelman syndrome. A portion from every project is donated to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation!
When Derek Tappin founded Angelman Roofing & Restoration, he wanted to do more than just create a thriving business. He made it his mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him. He started his business with a motto, with a promise: “roofing for a reason.” Derek’s journey in the contracting industry began when he was only sixteen years old. His early experiences laid the foundation of what would become Angelman Roofing & Restoration. Derek’s determination to provide the best for his family has been a driving force behind his success; he says he’s most grateful for his wife, Nicole, and his children.
Derek’s care extends beyond his homestead, and reaches into his community. He takes care of his neighbors, not only in the exceptional service he and his company provides, but in his company’s dedication to charitable causes, always putting people before profits. The company pledges a portion of its annual earnings to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation. They also donate to Toys for Tots and collaborate with the Houston Food Bank to provide essential home modifications for clients in need.
Angelman Roofing and Restoration provides a full range of restorative services, operating from the top of your home all the way to the bottom, literally. From the roof of your house to the epoxy flooring in the basement, Angelman’s services are the highest of quality, and the services don’t stop there. They work with fences, gutters, windows, pressure washing, remodels, foundational repairs, and fire and water remediation. Whatever your home needs, Derek and the entire Angelman Roofing and Restoration family provide the very best of home services.
One of the best ways to draw attention to a particular cause is by naming your entire company after said cause. One of Derek’s main goals as the founder of his company, Angelman Roofing and Restoration, is to raise support for and awareness of Angelman syndrome. Derek and Nicole have three sons, two of whom have Angelman syndrome. Angelman syndrome is a rare neuro-genetic disorder that is caused by a loss of function of the UBE3A gene in the 15th chromosome. People with Angelman syndrome have developmental problems that become noticeable by the age of 6-12 months. Other common signs and symptoms usually appear in early childhood like walking and balance disorders, gastrointestinal issues, seizures and little to no speech. Despite these symptoms, people with Angelman syndrome have an overall happy and excitable demeanor. You’ll always know when you’re in the same room as someone with Angelman syndrome because that room will light up from their smile.
No matter what Derek Tappin does in his life, he does it with everything in his being. He is fully committed and his efforts will always shine through. Whether it’s providing the best roofing and restoration services, spending time with his family, or giving back to his community, Derek Tappin, and the entire Angelman Roofing and Restoration company, are going to give 110% every single time.

Great experience with Angelman Roofing! They were professional and seem to care about details. Even their estimate was done very nicely. One of our concerns was color matching of the shingles since another roofer didn't do it right. Derek was honest about the color match and came close to our original. They also used good materials and made minimal mess during the repairs and installation. A bonus is the helpful drone video that they show you before and after to give you a look of the whole roof. Glad they were referred to us and also happy to help their cause of supporting research for Angelman syndrome!
