Molly, the Sweetest Cherry on Top of This Community

Meet Molly, the beloved 3-year-old rescue Corgi of the Parsons family.

Jeanette Parsons and her husband, Roger, have a delightful member of their family at Lake Winnebago: their little 3-year-old rescue Corgi, Molly. She has quickly captured the hearts of everyone in the neighborhood. Rescued before her first birthday, Molly was given her sweet name before even arriving at her new home—a name that suits her perfectly.

Molly is a Corgi with a big personality that matches her tiny stature. Coming from a home that could no longer give her the needed attention after the arrival of a new baby, Molly was sent to Jeanette and Roger after a photo reached them. Having lost their previous Corgi a year earlier, the couple was initially reluctant but changed their minds the moment they saw Molly’s endearing face. As Roger joked when the decision was made, “Get in the car.” That moment marked the start of a loving new chapter.

This beloved pup is known for her exuberant greeting style. With every visitor, she wags her short little butt and does a playful dance, leaving no one untouched by her enthusiasm. In an unpredictable plot twist, Molly sometimes behaves like a cat, clambering onto the couch to enjoy a better neighborhood view. True to her Corgi nature, she even prefers sleeping on her back.

One amusing highlight of Molly’s personality is her unique attachment to her stuffed avocado. Although she has torn up every toy she received, this particular toy remains intact as she carries it from room to room, nudging it toward anyone daring to grab it first. Her snuggle sessions are legendary in the household—Molly loves curling up in laps, moving closer until she is head to shoulders with her favorite humans.

Molly is clearly living her best life. Jeanette and Roger have spared no expense to make sure she is spoiled, including the installation of a secure fence that allows her to roam freely in the expansive yard. Whether racing up and down the fence with neighbor Riley or playfully keeping Roscoe, their son’s Boxer, in check, Molly makes every moment an adventure. Although she isn’t a fan of car rides, she eagerly joins run sessions with Michael Shortino, their son-in-law and cross-country coach, whenever he visits.

Jeanette and her family definitely appreciate not only the joy that Molly brings but also the vibrant community at Lake Winnebago, where the couple has enjoyed eight happy years. Celebrating almost 50 years of marriage, surrounded by their children and grandchildren, they treasure the friendships and active lifestyle of the neighborhood. The Parsons family is grateful for the heartwarming addition of Molly, making this community and her family a little bit more fun (probably the size of a Corgi).
