This month we would like to shine the spotlight on Yost Auto Service. Bryan Yost, the owner, and operator, grew up in the Wichita/Valley Center area and has lived here for 41 years. Bryan has been married to his wife Julie for 20 years. They have five children ranging in grades from a senior in high school to a 6th grader. They love the outdoors and country living including camping, campfires, and fishing.

Bryan’s father Russ Yost started the business in 1982 in a little building called "Let Russ Fix It.” The business has been in 3 previous building locations before the current one, where they’ve been established for over 30 years. After Russ retired about eight years ago, Bryan took on the business. Prior to that, Bryan had worked in every aspect of the company from cleaning out the mud pits to detailing cars. Then he became a full-time technician, later moving to office work, where he was everything from a parts manager to service writer.

Yost Auto Service is a complete auto mechanic shop specializing in all makes and models, and it can perform any repairs necessary with the exception of bodywork. Recently, in addition to repairing vehicles, they have added a towing service.

When asked what makes their business unique, Bryan said that they pride themselves in taking care of people. “We believe the cars are just what bring us and people together. We always say we are here for the people, the cars just bring us together. We also pride ourselves in being completely honest and transparent. We will always go to great lengths to ensure our customers are taken care of.”

Given Byran’s many years of experience in this business, he says, “The biggest thing I can offer as advice is the maintenance of your vehicle. I see everyday things that could have been prevented just with consistent maintenance. A vehicle is made to go much farther these days than what people get out of them due to failures from lack of care. It is almost always cheaper to maintain and repair your vehicle than it is to buy another one.”

At Yost Auto Service, Bryan says they have many many great and wonderful clients that have been coming to them almost since the company began. He adds, “I believe it is not just the repairs that bring them back, but they are treated like an individual and not just a client. We love to see our old and new customers as we build our relationship throughout the years.”
