Pet’s name: Rocky and Sandy

Type of animal/breed: Boxer mixes

Male or female: Male and Female

Pet’s age: 7 months old

Where/why did you get your pet? 

They were roaming the neighborhood, spent one evening in Pat and Charles Wheeler’s backyard. The Lubbock shelter was not accepting drop-offs, so Levelland’s animal shelter was considered. However, that shelter is not a no-kill shelter, and Sandy was oh so cute….After we had agreed to take them, we went to pick them up. They were much bigger than we thought and their paws were huge! We said uh oh!

Is there a story behind its name? 

Tried to come up with a pair of names that fit a male and female couple and decided on Rocky and Sandy. 

Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)?

They love drinking from water sprinklers, tearing apart toys and pillows to get at the cottony good stuff inside  and having their bellies rubbed. 

What do you like best about your pets?

Their joy of life and silliness. 

Any funny stories?

One afternoon Janice went into the living room and found that the stuffing of a couch pillow was all over the living room floor. It looked like it had snowed inside! 

How spoiled are your pets?

No more spoiled than they should be! They get plenty of goodies, especially after walks and when they are well behaved. 

What else should we know about your pets and/or how your pets have enriched your home/family?

They are always excited to see us! Give us a reason to get out and walk the neighborhood twice a day, rain, snow or shine!
