November was a busy month at the Car Condo as they kicked off the holidays. Their monthly Coffee & Cars on, as usual, the second Saturday, was on Veterans’ Day. That evening Adam Johnston, of Rogers’ Jewelry, and Hammond and Suzanne (owners of the Car Condo) sponsored a fundraiser for the Adopt a Vet Dental Program.  We had 46 people including one veteran who is a beneficiary of AAVD who shared his story.  Everyone enjoyed delicious appetizers, champagne and wine while bidding on terrific silent auction items.  Rogers’ Jewelry donated 100% of profits from items purchased that night to AAVD.  We are so grateful for their generosity and the generosity of all those who participated and donated including multiple donors unable to attend.  The event raised over $16,000! 

The Adopt a Vet Dental Program (AAVD) was founded in April 2010 by Wayne and Linda Haigh in Reno, Nevada. In June 2013, AAVD joined forces and merged with the Northern Nevada Dental Health Programs (NNDHP), the nonprofit arm of the Northern Nevada Dental Society. In August 2019, AAVD became its own nonprofit organization and continues its mission to provide critical dental care to low-income veterans who do not qualify at the VA or cannot afford to see a dentist.
