Mac & Brie

Hi Las Olas Isles friends and neighbors:

Our names are Mac and Brie.  We cannot tell you how amazingly ecstatic we are to share our story with you!

We were born in Hialeah on February 24, 2021. Our doggie parents Mama Peggy and Papa Theo met because their humans knew each other, and said, “Hey, you have a good looking Frenchie, and I have a good looking Frenchie, so let’s get them together.”  Dog, are we glad they did.  Mama is one of the world’s most beautiful dog ladies, and Papa a prize-winning stud.  Put them together, and out came the two of us, and of course two more twin brothers, who also are cute.   The two of us though were inseparable from Day 1. Even as newborns we knew we would shine together. We kept yelping that we looked so good and needed to be out in front of the camera.  Within a few days, we found out that our parents’ humans had other human friends, Scott and Roberto, who were going to take us to a new home. Our parents told us all about them!  They said Scott is a very successful trial and business attorney at Nelson Mullins, and Roberto was a model and the reigning Mr. World Costa Rica. While we were sad to leave our parents and brothers behind, we could not believe that the two of us had the chance to live in The Venice of America. The land of boat shows and boat parades, art fairs, air and sea shows, beachfront music festivals, a really cool riverwalk, and so much more! We got so excited and could not stop bragging to our brothers that we were going to live on the isles, that Mama Peggy gave us her blessing a little early and told us that it was time to go.

On April 11th, we journeyed north to move to our new home on Hendricks Isle, we knew we were in the right city and had the most amazing humans to give us the perfect life.  Scott thought of our names.  He was at Croissant Time ordering French food when he thought of the witticism with Macaron and Brie, both French, that could be shortened to his favorite food of all, mac and cheese. Of course, little did he know that we would be better than all of the Kraft, Velveeta, Annie’s and any other type of mac and cheese he had ever experienced before.

After naming us, we went to visit the veterinarian.  At first, we were scared and had no idea what to expect, but Dr. Kerry Rafuse at Gentle Care Animal Hospital was the bestest.  She really eased our minds.  She also gave us all of the necessary shots to let us roam around, which is exactly what we wanted to do. Scott and Roberto took our cues and socialized us from early, letting us enjoy all of the restaurants and people-watching up and down Las Olas. We really enjoyed visiting all of the places that had weekend Bark Brunches.  We would walk from our home on Hendricks Isle to literally everywhere – although often we would stop and make Scott and Roberto pick us up, especially as the summer humidity started to roll in.   But they also knew that a cool bowl of water and a puppicino would give us some energy to get back going again.

At 13 weeks, we had our Bark Mitzvah and pawtied with our neighbors and friends.  It was really fun, and all of the treats that people brought to us to say Mazel Tov lasted at least a few weeks.

We continued to explore everything going on in Fort Lauderdale.  We even got to go to the Miss Universe contest at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and meet all of the contestants.  For those who also went, I’m sure you’d join us in thinking that our friend, Miss Peru, should have won! Oh, well – that’s kind of like finding a really good stick and biting it too hard.  It breaks in two, and you become disappointed, until you realize that now you have two sticks.   And now with the two of us, if we both break a stick we have four.  See our point?  If not, it’s ok.  We are still cute and you can scratch us behind our ears.

We also went to a restaurant that was named after our inspiration - I  Mac and Cheese.  How cool is that?  I guess it makes sense given all of our social media followers.   We love sharing our lives and favorite things with others.  Someone sent us 10 days of Halloween costumes that we modeled.   Others have sent us clothes, treats, and even stuffed animals to tear apart and rip out the squeaky thing in the middle.  One of our videos, doing a DNA test had over 1 million views on Tiktok.   You too can see our content and follow us on our social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok - @macandbriefrenchies).

All of this wouldn’t have been possible as well without a few of our other friends that we have to mention.  Our behavioral trainer Betsy Zabal from The Elite Dog.  Marta, our housekeeper.  Our groomer Pete & Izzy.  Our neighbor friends Lady, Tunie, and Mia.  Our doggie cousins Sampson, Chewy, Buckeye, and Burrow. And of course, our humans, Scott and Roberto, to whom we really are sorry for all of the

We hope you enjoyed learning more about us.
