A Community-Driven Cook and Yoga Trainer:

Julie Parsons!

Julie D'Anna is a local yoga and athletic trainer who has lived in the neighborhood for over 30 years. She enjoys living in Lago de Vita with her dog Augie and is an active member of the community.

Julie works at Saint Vincent College and teaches yoga to their sports teams. She’s also a personal trainer who specializes in personal injury and special needs. She enjoys her work and says she loves to teach others.

“I teach at Alta Vita high rise in Lago de Vita. I also teach a water aerobics class and a chair/exercise class in Alta Vita,” Julie says. “The classes are so much fun!”

When she isn’t busy with work, she spends time with Augie, watches the Pittsburgh Pirates, shops and helps others. She is also a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and often serves as a lector.

“One of my favorite hobbies is watching the Pittsburgh Pirates win or lose,” she says. “It’s a longtime family hobby.”

Julie loves to cook and says her favorite meal is homemade soup. One of her favorite ways to help her friends, family and neighbors is through her cooking.

“I love cooking and sharing soups and meals,” Julie says. “I always make sure I cook and deliver food to those who need a home-cooked meal.”

She also enjoys going out to eat and support local businesses. Julie’s favorite local restaurants are Vallozzi’s, The Boulevard and Marino’s American Eatery. The variety of places to go is one of the things she likes most about Greensburg.

“I love all the fun things to do in Greensburg and the surrounding areas,” she says. “I love shopping in downtown Greensburg to support our local businesses.”

Julie says she likes reading Stroll Laurel View because she learns more about her neighbors and finds new recipes to try.

“I always look forward to all the articles about our neighbors, as well as the pet section,” she says. “And there are always good recipes by The Mom Chef!”

If you see Julie out and about with Augie, be sure to stop by and say hi!
