Family Fun and Local Love with the Grandalski Family

Meet the Grandalski family! Megan and Robert moved to Timbercrest this year but have lived in nearby Latrobe for three years. The Grandalskis say they love living in the neighborhood because of the convenient location as well as the community available for their family.

“We love the proximity to many parks and playgrounds, and there’s always something family friendly going on,” Megan says. “It’s the perfect distance for day trips into Pittsburgh.”

Megan and Robert are high school sweethearts and have been together for nearly 12 years. Robert works in engineering and Megan is a family medicine physician. Their son Miles will be turning two this month. The family has two dogs—Loki, who is 14, and Norman, who is 10—that they enjoy spending time with as well.

Both Robert and Megan are from Erie, which is their top family vacation destination.

“Our favorite vacation spot is Erie, to visit our family and hometown,” Megan says.

The Grandalskis enjoy eating at local restaurants and small businesses in Greensburg, too. One of their favorite family activities is visiting the Latrobe Cone Zone for ice cream. Some of their favorite restaurants include El Diablo Brewing Co. & Wood-Fired Kitchen, IronRock Tap House and Tapped Brick Oven & Pour House.

Discovering new local businesses is one of the reasons the family says they like to read Stroll Laurel View.

“It features many of our local businesses and upcoming events, which enhances the community feel of Greensburg,” Megan says.

At home, they love to cook fettuccine alfredo and afritada together. Their other family hobbies include reading, golfing and visiting local parks. If you run into the Grandalski family at a park this month, be sure to say hi and wish Miles a happy birthday!
