Congratulations Ava Segura
Signed To Play Softball For Southern Miss!
Stroll Le Triomphe is proud to congratulate Ava Segura, and her parents Brock and Jenni, on her opportunity to continue her softball career at the University of Southern Miss- what an accomplishment! And while the roster spot and scholarship may be hers alone, there’s no question that the years-long gauntlet of practices and tournaments required to make it here take a team effort. And clearly no one’s more aware than Ava herself…
I’ve been playing softball for as long as I can remember, and I’m thankful to be able to announce that I’ve chosen the University of Southern Mississippi. Their great coaching staff made me feel like family, always seeing the best in me through my ups and downs in the game; and their support made it feel like home and God’s clear plan for me.
The hours spent in the batting cages and on the field working to be better than yesterday have truly been countless. I’m very thankful and blessed that so many of those hours have been spent with my Dad; there’s no doubt that, without his pushing me through the mental and physical challenges that inevitably come with the inherent failure built into the game of softball, there’s no way I’d be the athlete or person that I am today.
And there have been so many other key people along the way for which I’m thankful, especially the coaches and teammates God has placed in my softball journey. I’m so excited for this next step in that journey as a Golden Eagle. I can’t wait to be on campus to work hard alongside the incredible athletes and coaches will continue to help me grow in this game I love.
