Meet the Parrish-McKinley Family!

For Casey McKinley and Linda Parrish-McKinley, Lake Forest isn’t just a neighborhood—it’s the realization of a dream. Since moving to Woodlake in September 2024, they’ve embraced everything this community has to offer, from its timeless beauty to the friendships that have made them feel instantly at home.

Originally from Kentucky, Casey grew up in Louisville, while Linda originates from Harrodsburg. Together, they’ve built a loving blended family with Linda’s two children, Sydney (16) and Nick (14), both of whom were born and raised in Louisville. Sydney plays volleyball for Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) and Legacy Volleyball Club, while Nick stays active with lacrosse for CAL and Louisville Kings/L4.

Casey and Linda’s love story is one of hope and second chances. After losing her first husband, Clay, in 2014, Linda spent years focused on her children before taking a leap of faith with online dating —an experience encouraged by friends that ultimately led her to Casey. Their first date in January 2021 sparked an instant connection, and Casey quickly stepped into the role of a loving stepfather, providing the support and care that Sydney and Nick needed. "Casey didn't have children prior to inheriting two active teens. He has truly become the stepfather/father my children desperately needed and wanted. It's a lot to take on but he has truly done it with love and patience," Linda tells us. Their journey came full circle when they celebrated their wedding reception at The Lodge in Lake Forest.

Casey is a University of Kentucky and Bellarmine University graduate, and Linda completed her education at St. Catharine College then Eastern Kentucky University. They both have established careers in the healthcare industry—Casey as a manager at Humana Healthcare and Linda as a Senior Neurology Account Specialist with Eisai. Despite their busy schedules, they prioritize family time, whether it's attending church together at Southeast Christian or St. Patrick’s, enjoying family movie nights, or sitting down for Sunday dinners.

Their home is filled with love—not just for each other but also for their rescue pets. Rigby and Bumble, their Australian Shepherds, along with their three cats, Toby, Mia, and Pepper, have all found a second chance with the McKinleys. The family also fosters animals in need, providing them with the love and care necessary to thrive.

Giving back to the community is an essential part of their lives. Casey and Linda support the Kentucky Humane Society, while Sydney, Nick, and Linda have raised over $36,000 for the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Foundation in memory of Clay.

When they’re not busy with work, sports, or community efforts, the family enjoys dining at local favorites like Gander and Fiesta Time. For special date nights, they return to Del Frisco’s, the place where they celebrated their engagement. Travel is also a big part of their family life—Fort Walton Beach is a frequent getaway, thanks to their rental property, but they make it a goal to explore a new destination every year. Their most memorable trip? Their "Familymoon" in the Dominican Republic.

For the Parrish-McKinleys, the best part of living in Lake Forest is the sense of connection. With their children so close to friends and teammates, and their amazing neighbors who have made them feel at home, they couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. “We are just so thankful to have our forever home in Lake Forest,” says Linda.
