Paper Animal Hand Puppets

with Sarah, Luke, and Henry Spaulding

Supplies:
Construction paper
Markers, crayons, or pens
Glue stick
Scissors

Directions:
Choose a color paper for the body of your puppet. Fold paper in thirds lengthwise. Glue along seam to secure. Fold your paper in half with the seam on the outside. Then fold over one flap back towards the crease. Flip paper and fold over the other flap the same way. You will end up with an “M” shape. The point in the middle will be your puppet’s mouth. Your fingers go in the pockets on the edges to make the mouth move.

From scrap pieces of construction paper, cut out shapes for ears, a tongue, a unicorn horn, etc. Glue the tongue on the inside along the crease and the other pieces on the outside (the puppet’s face). Finish decorating your puppet with markers.

Now you can put your hand inside the pockets and put on a puppet show for your baby brother!
