Moose
Courtney Milner and her family have lived in Liberty Park for 17 years, but during her senior year of college, she decided it was time to introduce a new member to the family.
Moose, an Aussiedoodle, is a special pup. His breed comes in multiple different sizes and colors. Some would say Moose is the perfect size, sitting at 30 pounds. He also sports a cool, tricolor coat (and occasionally his Auburn jersey. War Eagle, Moose!)
When asked about his name, she says her dad picked it out. "It suit him!" Courtney said. "We both loved it!!" What also makes Moose so special is the timing of his arrival.
“I adopted Moose when I was in my senior year at Auburn University,” said Courtney. “ I felt ready and prepared to welcome another dog after my other pet had passed a year and a half earlier.”
Moose, now two years old, is quite the companion and is always ready to go on an adventure. Whether that’s going for walks on the neighborhood’s hidden paths, visiting the dog park at Sicard Hollow or playdates with his doodle friend, Charlie.
His adventure of choice? “Definitely running alongside a 4-wheeler in a park or on a trail. He is so fast and loves to run,” says Courtney. Her favorite memory so far with Moose was his first trip to the beach. “He loved the sand, and swam in the water with us by his side. He was covered in sand by the end of the outing.”
When he isn’t running around, he will almost always have a tennis ball or stick in his mouth. “He loves to play with his toys on his back and hold them in his paws. It’s super funny to watch him just stare at it sometimes on his back or shake it back and forth,” she said.
A pup’s personality is fun to watch unfold, especially when it comes to unique tricks and traits. If you ever find yourself in a room with Moose, chances are he will sit at the threshold of a door, waiting for you to invite him inside with “C’mon Moose!” Some call that a trick, some call it good manners! Good boy, Moose. Good boy!
