Catching Waves and Touchdowns
Meet Max Roberts, a multi-sport athlete who is thriving in surfing, football, lacrosse, and snowboarding, while excelling in academics and community involvement on Lido Isle.
Max currently lives on Lido Isle and has lived here ever since he was a young kid. Max is a freshman at Newport Harbor High School in the class of 2027 and has graduated through Ensign Intermediate School and Newport Elementary.
Max is a very well-rounded athlete as he competes in a variety of sports and activities to stay active. Max has competed in lacrosse, football, tennis, snowboarding, surfing, baseball, skateboarding, and sailing. However, he most enjoys surfing, football, lacrosse, and snowboarding.
Max is a local Newport surfer who likes to surf all over Newport Beach including The Wedge, Blackies, 32nd Street, and River Jetties. His favorite spot though is Trestles Beach which is located south of San Clemente and is known for its good surf. He is a very talented shortboarder and can do turns and airs.
Max is also a good football player who is talented at running with the ball and is very versatile. He plays slot receiver which is the inside receiver who is fast and shifty. Max mainly plays receiver but is also able to play running back due to his quick acceleration, field vision, and ability to make defenders miss. Max is a great player to have on the team because he is a playmaker and can make plays in big situations.
In addition, Max plays lacrosse which he recently picked up but learned quickly. Lacrosse season is in the winter, and Max plans to play for the very talented NHHS lacrosse team.
Lastly, he enjoys snowboarding and often goes on family trips to the mountains. He and his family like to go to Lake Tahoe, Mammoth, and Brianhead to snowboard.
Max is clearly an exceptional athlete but he is also a great scholar and is very involved in our Lido Isle community. Max has a great character and a hard-working attitude that will lead him far in life as he transitions into high school.
Max, we are impressed by the abilities you are able to do and wish you good luck for the rest of your athletic career!
