From Madison Avenue to M Streets: Amy Sack's Journey from NYC Advertising to Dallas Real Estate
From Walkable Streets to Staging Success – Amy's Journey in Crafting Homes and Building Communities.
After a decade in advertising in New York City, and another at Yahoo! in Dallas, Amy Sack has a go-getter work ethic, grace under pressure, and exceptional marketing skills. Looking for a change from a corporate role to one more closely tied to her community, in 2106 she decided to put her skills to work in real estate.
Moving here, Amy immediately fell in love with the neighborhood: “Being able to walk to coffee shops, neighborhood restaurants, and the Granada was a huge draw. As well as the parks and proximity to White Rock Lake, we have the shopping in Lakewood and NorthPark, and easy access to the airports.”
Explaining her work ethic, Amy says: “Market preparation is huge for me and my team. I invest time and resources into getting a home ready to list, and my goal is to get top dollar for my client’s home, ensuring they receive a return on any money put in.” She points to the Compass Concierge program which fronts the money to make improvements prior to listing, with nothing due until closing.
The formula pays off for her clients: “Last Spring I had a client looking to sell a gorgeous Tudor who used our Compass Concierge program to make renovations and hired Renovate to Sell to make the updates. I offered her my complimentary staging services. She received multiple offers and achieved more than 500% ROI on the updates.”
For Amy, business is all about the people. And her love for the neighborhood is as deep as ever: “I'm energized by getting to know so many incredible people already here and those looking to move here. Our neighborhood attracts people from across the country, looking to buy their first home or to upsize and get their kids into Mockingbird Elementary.” She finds other clients are downsizing - “I come across empty nesters who have raised their kids in the suburbs and are looking to live here,” she continues, “because it’s a vibrant, walkable urban neighborhood for all ages and stages of life.”
By sponsoring events and programs at Mockingbird, Elementary JL Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School Amy gives back, while she was a sponsor of the 100-year celebration of Greenland Hills last year. She volunteers on the PTA Board at JL Long, where her daughters are students. She was awarded a Lifetime Texas PTA Membership for her contributions at Mockingbird where she chaired the school's auction. She spends her free time with family and friends, enjoying live music, food, wine, travel, and tennis.
“The Spring market got off to a running start in February,” Amy says, “and in the M Streets, homes move-in ready and presented well with tasteful, well-done updates and proper staging are seeing multiple offers and fierce competition.”
Amy concludes, "working in real estate has given me the deeper connection to my neighborhood lacking in my previous career.” Her favorite testimonial is “we knew right after walking into one of her open houses years ago, she would be our saving grace to find the perfect place.”
