Everyone Wants A Stroll

Just recently, on one of my daily walks down Glencoe, I ran into a lovely young woman who was eager to share her love of reading the M Streets Stroll Magazine. I was so thrilled to hear the joy it brought to her. During our conversation, she confessed to not living in the M Streets but borrowing her friend's copy who does live in the M Streets. I had to chuckle, she must really love the magazine to go to such lengths to acquire a copy. Then, another confession. While sick in bed, she decided the folks on Longview needed a magazine of their own. So, she took it upon herself to create the “L-Streets Weekly.” I can’t imagine how much time it must’ve taken to write articles, cut out pictures and entertain neighbors with columns such as Neighbor of the Month and Architecture Trends. It was amazing!
What was even more amazing was how this form of flattery made me feel, delighted. Delighted that we live in a community, not just a neighborhood. One where we are happy to share the many joys in life, such as publishing a book (John Crawley, August 2023), being excited for a wedding (Bryan and Andrie O’Hare, April 2023) and a spot on reality TV (Anthony LaScalea, June 2022).
We routinely come together as a group to celebrate our pets (Yappy Hour), enjoy some family fun (Meet and Greets) and gather for the holidays (Easter Egg Hunt).
I might venture to say, sometimes it’s even more than just a community, it’s an extended family.

THANK YOU NEIGHBORS & PARTNERS
As we celebrated 7 years of our M Streets community magazine, we wanted to say Thank You to all who have made these amazing 7 years possible - to all of our neighbors sharing their stories, to our volunteers who help make our events run smoothly and of course to our business partners who make it possible for us to print and ship Stroll M Streets every month directly to your mailbox. Cheers! - Kirsten, Owner/Publisher Stroll M Streets
