Eric Lee: A Journey of Perseverance and Excellence

Eric Lee joined our Kumon center as one of my very first students, and today, he has completed the entire program—a milestone that marks his dedication and resilience. From his early days in the program, Eric demonstrated a deep curiosity and a remarkable work ethic, qualities that have led him to impressive achievements. Recently, he earned perfect scores on the math sections of both the SAT and PSAT, showcasing the academic discipline he has cultivated through years of consistent effort.

At this year’s Kumon Awards picnic, Eric gave a motivational speech to his fellow students. He spoke about the importance of sticking with Kumon, especially when it becomes challenging, and shared how the persistence he developed through Kumon has supported him in other pursuits. Eric is also a talented violinist and golfer, two activities that, like Kumon, require discipline, regular practice, and resilience. In his speech, Eric reminded younger students that these qualities are just as valuable in music and sports as they are in academics. The focus and commitment he developed in Kumon helped him excel in all areas, from the concert stage to the golf course.

Eric’s journey through Kumon wasn’t always easy; he faced moments of difficulty as the material became more advanced. But he pushed through, learning to manage his time, sharpen his problem-solving skills, and build resilience. His story demonstrates that the benefits of Kumon extend far beyond the classroom, offering skills that support lifelong achievement.

We are immensely proud of Eric and look forward to seeing all the incredible things he will accomplish next. He embodies what’s possible when commitment meets opportunity, and he will always remain a cherished part of our Kumon family.
