The Balan Family
As we approach our tenth year producing Stroll Moore's Ferry & Governor's Harbour, we thought it would be fun to showcase a family in their tenth year living in Moore's Ferry. Adrian and Arabela Balan have been in the neighborhood for ten years now. During this time, they built numerous houses and had three adorable children, Alexis (10), Amelia (8) and Aiden (5). Arabela graduated from UNCC with a double major in finance and management, and Adrian graduated with a degree in theology from the University of Emmanuel in Romania. Let's take a minute to learn about them and enjoy their beautiful pictures.
Adrian and I met in the Republic of Moldova on a mission trip to help orphanages there. We are both originally from the same city, Oradea, in Romania; however, we have never met before this mission trip. I was coming as a College student from the US, and Adrian was in college in Oradea. We always laugh because the way we met was so unique that only the hand of God could have orchestrated it in such a beautiful way.
Adrian and I are the proud owners of Decor Builders Inc, a local construction company specializing in mid to higher-level homes. We've built many new homes in this neighborhood and other surrounding areas. I am also the owner of Decor Real Estate Group LLC, which is a small real estate firm.
Adrian is also a senior pastor at First Romanian Pentecostal Church in Hickory. His passion was always theology, and when the Lord called us to serve, we found a home church in Hickory to serve.
He is so thankful that he gets to serve the Lord in a leadership role in the church and do what he loves, which is building houses. The Lord has been so good to our family and we thank him for all his blessings.

Originally, we found a beautiful lot in the neighborhood, and we knew from that moment that this was a good neighborhood to raise our family. Over the 10 years, who would've thought we would move to four different houses in the same neighborhood? The life of a builder is never easy.
Our kids are currently in 5th, 3rd, and kindergarten in school. They love sports and are very active in different sports, but they love Soccer and Lacrosse the most. Our family loves the beach, and we love the fact that we live so close to the mountains. We love to hike, so being so close to the mountains is such a blessing. Our favorite spots for a date night are Fourk or DaVinci's but with the kids, a good Mexican restaurant is always a good idea.
