BeLocal Bear Hits a Homerun at Catawba Science Center
What a fun crew!
Our favorite bear was out and about again! BeLocal Bear is the mascot for BeLocal Foothills magazine, which is sent to new movers in the area and is full of information and recommendations for locally-owned businesses and attractions. The person behind the bear is none other than our very own Tyler McGuire! Follow BeLocal Foothills on Instagram at BeLocal _foothills!
Our BeLocal Bear was invited to the Catawba Science Center on Saturday, June 1st, to participate in CSC’s Mascot Day, celebrating their baseball-themed exhibit, Big League Fun. Bear joined the Watauga County Humane Society Husky, Conrad the Crawdad, the Chick-fil-A Cow, and Catawba Science Center’s Splashy to greet families as they visited the new exhibit.
Big League Fun is entertaining for all ages and will be at the Catawba Science Center through Sunday, September 8, 2024. This interactive exhibit aims to educate visitors about the science behind America's favorite pastime, with hands-on activities featuring everything you can experience in the world of baseball. Highlights include a batting cage, running the bases activity, pitching and throwing cages, concessions, press box, ticket booth, and locker room.
Admission is free for Catawba Science Center members, including a baseball game (July 26th) with the Hickory Crawdads and special discounts with area businesses. General admission is $14 for adults ages18+ and $12 for youth ages 3-17.
