Jerome High School Celebrates 20 Years

Dublin Jerome Staff Celebrates 20 Years.
Dublin Jerome High School is celebrating a major milestone this school year, recently bringing past and present staff together for a special reception in honor of its 20th anniversary. Held at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, the event was an opportunity for anyone who had worked at Jerome for at least one full school year in the past two decades to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate.
Among the nearly 100 attendees were five dedicated staff members who have been with Jerome since its doors first opened in August 2004: Michele Trisler, Aaron Bauer, Rosemarie Payne, Diane Murphy, and Katherine Fogg. Superintendent Dr. John Marschhausen also attended, recognizing the contributions of those who have shaped the school into one of Ohio’s best.
When Jerome first opened in 2004, it welcomed 912 students but had no senior class. Under the leadership of Principal Steve Best and Assistant Principals Cathy Sankey and Tom McDonnell, Jerome quickly established its identity as a high-performing suburban high school. Notable individuals who have attended Jerome since it opened include Chris Wood, an actor known for his role in The Vampire Diaries, and Connor Murphy, a defenseman in the National Hockey League.
A unique piece of history connects Jerome to Dublin’s newest elementary school, Deane Brown Bishop Elementary, which is currently being constructed next door. The Bishop family sold the land where Jerome now stands to the district in the 1990s, foreseeing Dublin’s future growth and the need for a third high school. Additionally, at Jerome’s dedication in August 2004, Suzie Feasel, daughter of Deane Brown Bishop, presented the school’s first American flag.
Today, Jerome has more than doubled in size, with an enrollment of 2,070 students. As the district continues to grow, Dublin City Schools is undertaking a high school redistricting process to balance enrollment across all three high schools. New attendance boundaries will take effect in August 2026, ensuring all students have access to the best possible educational experience.
