Pursuing Passion and Purpose Through Pops
When it comes to ambition and passion, Lauren Borchers is proof that it’s never too early to begin turning them into reality. An incoming fourth grader at Eli Pinney Elementary School, she is the Founder of the local growing cake pop business, Lauren’s Lil Pops.
Lauren’s ambition was sparked this past school year by her third grade teacher, Ms. Mooi, when she presented a lesson on entrepreneurship. From that day forward Lauren’s curiosity surrounding entrepreneurs was piqued! After consulting with her parents, Lauren was determined to start her own business. Lauren’s passion for baking with her mom, combined with her love for Starbucks’ fun and tasty cake pops inspired her business endeavor.
To bring her idea to life, Lauren enlisted the help of a family friend, Bryan, who so kindly designed the logo, which has become the representative emblem of her brand.
As opposed to the typical round shapes that cake pops are made in, Lauren’s Lil Pops offers a signature disc shape that can be decorated and customized according to the distinct needs and themes of different occasions. To date, the passionate baker has already fulfilled orders for birthday parties, wedding receptions, competitions, and even 4th of July parties.
In addition to bringing delight to events and occasions, Lauren’s Lil Pops is rooted in a greater purpose and aims to serve the wider community. Lauren is setting aside sales proceeds to help kids who are sick and receiving medical attention from Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Whether it be her own experiences to date or those of siblings, cousins, and childhood friends in the community, Lauren has gained an appreciation for medical professionals helping those she loves dearly. Lauren’s philanthropic outlook is her way of paying it forward and helping a friend in need.
Behind every successful entrepreneur is an army of supporters. Lauren’s comes in the form of her family and friends, who have cheered her on from the very beginning, and continue to support her as business continues to grow. Her mom, Lia, her dad, Ben, her three sisters, Brooklyn, Madison, and Katelyn, give Lauren the motivation she needs to remain passionate and purposeful!
