Muirfield Means Memories for Chapman Family

Proud OSU Marching Band moments with Robbie, Allison, Jaime, Jackson and Morgan.

The Chapman name has deep roots in Dublin.  Jaime and Mitch Chapman moved to Muirfield in January, but it was just a homecoming. “Mitch and I grew up in Dublin,” says Jaime. “We met in high school.” The couple actually met at a Muirfield Village potluck. They started dating while still attending Dublin High School. Details, details….  The Chapmans are also descendants of Albert Chapman, the first doctor in Dublin, and John Sells, founder of Dublin.  These historical figures have been honored by Dublin City Schools with buildings named after them - Sells Middle School and Chapman Elementary.

After high school, Mitch attended Purdue University. Jaime stayed closer to home to go to Miami University. The couple made their life together official after college, and they have resided in Dublin since 2003. Their return to Muirfield brought their lives full circle. “It’s like coming back home!” says Jaime. “We grew up here, met here, and had our wedding reception at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, where we are members now.”

Their four children all graduated or attend Dublin Coffman High School. Twins Robbie and Jackson, 23, both graduated from The Ohio State University. Robbie lives in Madison, Wisconsin, where he works as a technical solutions engineer. Jackson is a software developer for Jonas Fitness in Gahanna. Drew, 18, began his college journey at Ohio State in August and Meg, 16, will be the last in line to graduate from Coffman.

Athletics and music are a big part of the family’s life in the community. Mitch, who works as a software architect for Arcos, is in the local band Dublin Dads in the Dark. He also sings as a cantor at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church. You can find Jaime in the Shops at Muirfield complex, where she works as a brand representative and front desk associate at The Blowout Bar. Jaime also enjoys working out at Lifetime Fitness with Mitch.

The Chapman kids have all run track for Coffman. Robbie and Jackson were members of the marching band at Ohio State and Drew was recently informed that he too will be carrying out the tradition as a member of TBDBITL . Meg is making musical memories of her own. “She is involved in the music programs at Dublin Coffman”.

The Chapmans are—and have been—very involved in all areas of the local scene. “We have fond memories of our families living here,” Jaime says. She worked at The Morgan House during high school and college. Mitch worked at Baker’s Village Garden Center.

The kids have carried on the working tradition. Drew worked at The Country Club at Muirfield Village as a pool cafe associate. Meg works at Iacono’s in Shawnee Hills. All four Chapman children were altar servers at St. Brigid.

Jaime and Mitch also give back in other ways. “You can often find us at the high school football games working the concessions for music boosters,” says Jaime. We are co-presidents of the Dublin Coffman music program, so we work year-round on various volunteer projects for boosters.”

The Memorial Tournament is an exceptionally special time around the Chapman house. “It's such fun!” says Jaime. “We live on the 5th tee, so it’s a fun week for us to watch live golf.”

Next year, the family plans to celebrate another exciting event. “Robbie is engaged to be married in May 2025,” says Jaime. Will another Chapman family be moving to Muirfield someday? It would be a fitting conclusion to the next chapter in the Chapman family’s Muirfield scrapbook.
